Principal's Corner

After studying at Auburn University, Mr. Kohler interned in special education in 1992. From 1992 until 1998 Mr. Kohler taught 2nd and 3rd grade special education. In 1998, Mr. Kohler became the assistant principal under Kathie Ledbetter. Then in 2006, Mr. Kohler became the principal. All of Mr. Kohler's years in education have been right here at Smiths Station Elementary School.

     "It comes down to what your priorities are, and if public education is about kids,

     then every decision we make should be focused on the question of, 

     'Is this good for a child?'

     And that should be the driving focus and the priority when we decide
